The historical "Palazzo Dei Capitani" in the centre of picturesque Garda is the home of Ristorante Ai Capitani. You can find it directly on the lakefront a couple of feet away from the Lake. Ai Capitani is a serious restaurant, not a pizzeria, where during the summer, every day, a team of eight hard working people provide quality food, exclusive wines and a professional service to its customers.
In the five years of its existence Ristorante Ai Capitani continues to raise its standards using fresh ingredients and high quality meat. The fish comes in fresh every day.
On the menu you’ll find an Italian kitchen with influences from international kitchens. There’s a vast choice of starters, first and main courses, fish and meat as well as vegetarian dishes.
Highlights like roasted tuna with mint and ginger or salmon with strawberries and honey with an onion crème are worth trying.
Fresh handmade pasta’s, like the bigoli with seafood or spaghetti alla chitarra with lobster are very popular. Unusual main courses, like the chicken with prosecco, or maybe an Italian fish stew like the Cacciucco, or a grilled tuna steak.
Of course a few Italian classics can be found there too. And to finish the evening of in style, try the homemade desserts, accompanied with sweet dessert wines, or a smooth grappa.
The wine comes in a bewildering range of styles from dry to sweet, sourced from the Lake Garda area, to the south of Italy, but always high quality from small wine producers, yet to be found in commerce.
Both owner and director are Dutch and speak several languages. Having worked in the food and beverage industry for many years, they share the same vision of how a night out at a restaurant should be like: having a healthy and tasty meal, combined with a bottle of Italian quality wine, all served by professional waiters in a romantic setting, giving customers the best experience possible.
